Survey Login

The 2018 Okanagan Travel Survey is a confidential and voluntary travel survey on how residents of the Central Okanagan and City of Vernon get from place to place on a daily basis.

This important survey is an initiative of the City of Kelowna, City of Vernon, Regional District of Central Okanagan, West Kelowna, Lake Country, Peachland and Westbank First Nations, as well as the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure. The survey data collected helps local regional and provincial governments make transportation planning and investment decisions. The survey is carried out every five years, and provides your municipality and regional planners with information critical for making data-based decisions on improvements to transportation infrastructure and services.

An independent Victoria-based research firm, R.A. Malatest & Associates Ltd., has been contracted to administer the survey.

Your participation is important!

If you received a letter from the City of Vernon or local government agencies within Central Okanagan you have been randomly selected to participate in the study. You have the chance to shape your region's transportation future!

The goal of the survey is to understand where people are going and how they get there by collecting information on the trips made by each member of your household. The information you provide will be used to make informed transportation decisions on future planning for roads, public transit, and other transportation facilities to make it easier to get where you need to go.

It is important that we gather information from residents from all walks of life who use any mode of transportation - including drivers, public transit users, cyclists, and pedestrians - regardless of how many trips they took.

In October 2018, letters including details about the survey will be sent to randomly selected households. The survey will take a typical household about 15 to 25 minutes to complete. The length of the survey will vary by the size of your household and the extent of your travel activity.
